‘Jill and Giles’ is a short human interest portrait documentary based on an English couple who have spent 20 years living and working on a boat with half of that time being spent on the River Shannon in Ireland. This documentary focuses on Jill and Giles’ initial decision to live on the barge, their work and hobbies. It explores the themes of unconventionality, freedom and belonging.

Unsilencing black voices is a project created to highlight different forms of racism through the lived experience of the black community in Ireland. We aim to encourage everyone to continuously partake in the ongoing discussions of race. We hope that this platform will be an educational and social adventure that shines a light to the black voices in Ireland that had been previously silenced as their experiences had been brushed aside. It is now our time to reclaim back our voices in a safe space that acknowledges and welcomes our diverse lived experiences.

My client goal was to Inform students, future students and graduates of past student’s employment opportunities. The client’s other goal was to inform them of the careers office and there help with securing employment opportunities. I set out interviewing these students in a way that would somewhat seem natural. I didn’t want it to be a question and answer type video and I wanted it to be more relaxed and let the interviewee talk about themselves. Therefore, I shot some cutaways to go along with the story. It also showed the viewer where they work rather than the interviewee just telling them. For this project, I worked on the pre-production, post-production and production. My titles included: Director Researcher Interviewer Camera Woman Lighting co-ordinator Editor -Motion Graphics The only jobs I did not participate in was sound engineering and music. The Videos were posted on the client's social media sites and from it, they got some appointments with students looking for help in relation to interviews and C.V’s.

This was a group production for a college assignment. It was for a live tv show as an excerpt. For this project, I was camerawoman.

For a college project, we had to use a sound bed given to us, design a storyboard and create the project. I also found sound effects to use at certain points. this was not a requirement of the brief.
